I was recommended this book by my niece. It was the first of many books I have read by Karen Kingsbury in the last 2 years. I got hooked on this series and I have now read them all in this set. I feel like I lost a family member when I finished the books. The Baxter family is a great one to read about, to learn to love and to learn to care about what happens to the characters. They become like family. Anyone who takes time to read these books will be happy they did and will look forward to the next set, The Firstborn series.

I am a new reader of Karen Kingsbury's books...and I am hooked!!! She is an exceptionally gifted writer and her books are truly inspiring and faith-building. This book, Redemption, really spoke to my heart about marital commitment and being faithful to God even when it is painful and so very hard. In the end, He will redeem that pain and make something beautiful out of our obedience. I am excited to have found this author and can't wait to read all of her books.
I read this book because a radio station I listen to daily was talking about it. I wasn't sure how I would like it but I love a good read so I thought what the heck.

I loved it! I read it in two days! I just couldn't put this book down! I kept wanting to know what would happen next, would hearts mend or be broken again?

Reading one review here who was disgusted at part of the premise of this book ( I dont want to give it away so I wont say) but you have to remember this is a Christian author so its going to be written from a Christian point of view. This view tends to go against the grain of what the "world" thinks is right or wrong, just or unjust.

I am a Christian so I love reading this view. Even though its a fiction book there is enough reality in it to make you think. Think about your values and how you might react if you were Kari...

I have read several Karen Kingsbury book because I love how she writes about everyday life. I wasn't quite prepared for the turn in this book. I did find myself emotionally involved as usual. I have said it before, I appreciate how she does not make all the characters kind and loving. They are written to reflect the real world and the people in it. There is heartbreak and redemption. Adultery is a tough thing to live through. I liked how each character had an opinion about what Kari should do and why.
This was the first book I've read from this author and it left me wondering why I waited so long to jump on the Karen Kingsbury boat! It was a great read! It follows the story of a Christian woman who finds out her husband is cheating on her. Not just cheating on her but with one of his students at the College. The author takes a deep look at the issues involved in an affair. She digs dipper into how each person involved may have gotten to the point where the affair happens. It is filled with emotion and heart break. On several occasions I cried as my heart broke for the characters. I recommend keeping tissues handy!

This is a Christian novel and Christian themes are throughout the whole story. They talk and think in scriptures. They seek out knowledge from God and pray frequently in the book. The author intertwined one scripture verse throughout the entire book. I really liked that. Great read and I do plan to read more from this author!
Wow, what did I just read? The reward for Kari's faithfulness is her husband DYING ... redeemed, of course, and Kari striving to repair the marriage, of course, so there need be no guilt or remorse. This convenient death paves the way for Kari's true love, Ryan, to slide seamlessly into the picture. The faith message would have been stronger if Kari had remained joyful and believing while Tim had lived, given up the affair, and been an "okay" husband - not divorceable, but a bit boring, a bit paunchy, a big ho-hum, not the sexystrongfaithful football coach - while Ryan stayed in town, got over Kari, fell in love (real love, not second-place-to-Kari love) with a terrific woman and had a terrific family while genuinely not pining for Kari. That's almost certainly how this would have played out in real life. Showing Kari strong and faithful through that would have been a much better message.
I started reading Karen Kingsbury's book, Love Story, and have not stopped reading her books. She is one of the best Christian writers I have ever read. The details of her characters & her story telling keep me involved in her stories from page 1 till the end. She deals with everyday issues that we all seem to find ourselves involved in throughout our lives. Thank you Karen for all of your books. I highly recommend them to all of my friends!!
I have LOVED every one of the books in this series and can't wait to start into the next series. The reader gets to really know each and every character and the Baxter family becomes the reader's family. Karen kings bury brings to light all levels of the individual s involved in the story and the reader is motivated to have deeper relationships with people in real life because of lessons learned in reading even one of these books. Thank you, Karen kingsbury, for helping us understand ourselves and others emotionally, behaviorally and spiritually!
